Lichtbron is an educational and book-development project under the Al Farhan educational vision. Its purpose is to develop meaningful, accessible educational resources for children, especially those in villages and underserved communities with limited access to quality learning.
The educational approach combines three foundations:
- Islamic principles — grounding learning in Islamic values and understanding.
- Child psychology — respecting children's developmental stages and learning needs.
- Modern learning science — applying thoughtful, evidence-informed educational approaches.
Age groups and learning stages
- Early Years: ages 4–6.
- Primary: ages 7–10.
The planned curriculum framework is approximately 18–22 weeks, subject to the final curriculum structure.
Subjects and resources
The project develops books, lesson plans, teacher notes, activity guides and structured learning resources across:
- Qur’an and Islamic Studies
- Arabic, English and national languages
- Mathematics and science
- Social studies
- Skills, character development and creative activities
English is the starting foundation for the initial book-development work. The early English books are organised into Phase 1 and Phase 2 and have been reviewed by a psychologist. Broader curriculum development and teacher training are also part of the project vision.
The long-term aim is to connect authentic Islamic learning with child-centred education and practical teaching resources, making quality learning more accessible.
