Qiraat is the study of the recognised modes of reciting the Qur’an, each transmitted through an established chain of qualified reciters and teachers. In this course, learners explore the recognised readings, their narrators, the general principles of each reading and the word-specific differences between them. Under their teacher’s close guidance, they develop greater understanding, accuracy and confidence in Qur’anic recitation, building on an appropriate foundation in Tajweed. The learner’s level is assessed during the free trial class so that the teacher can recommend a suitable starting point.
Traditional knowledge. Thoughtful teaching. Modern ways to learn.
At Al Farhan, we bring authentic Qur’anic learning together with thoughtful teaching methods and the possibilities of modern educational technology. Our courses combine live, teacher-guided lessons with carefully designed activity books, structured practice and interactive digital learning resources. Where appropriate, learners also use purpose-built web applications and educational activities to reinforce concepts, practise their skills and revisit what they have learned. For Qiraat, the heart of learning remains the teacher-guided study and practice of Qur’anic recitation. Activity books and digital resources support the learning process, helping learners understand concepts, recognise differences between readings and develop their skills through regular practice and feedback. We use technology as a tool to make learning more engaging, accessible and interactive—not as a replacement for the teacher, personal guidance or the traditional transmission of Qur’anic knowledge. Our aim is to preserve the depth and authenticity of Islamic learning while making the learning experience more engaging and relevant for children, teens and adults today.
